A new-build home can offer a blank slate. In this case, though, the site was a challenging shape, and the budget was limited.

The garden was designed to make the most of the triangular rear plot, with a terrace, shaped lawns and diverse planting. Decorative trees and shrubs provide much of the greenery, although there are also herb beds and other low-maintenance herbaceous plants.

The front garden is extremely practical, with parking and turning areas for cars, as well as shrub borders for visual interest.
