A classic English landscape garden featuring a large lake and carefully selected specimen trees. The brief was to design a garden similar to the National Trust's Sheffield Park, but on a very limited budget.

This garden was planted for year round interest, but autumn is one of its finest seasons. Acers and other trees known for their autumn colour present a blaze of reds and golds across the lake.

The lakeside plantings include feature plants such as Gunnera, whose huge leaves make a real statement even from a distance. Other bog and aquatic plants provide structure and colour, as well as shelter for animals and insects.
