A garden for a block of contemporary flats in a seaside town. The brief was to provide seating and dining areas along with low-maintenance coastal planting.

The site offers both sun and shade, and the design takes advantage of the two aspects. Architectural planting has been added to the existing shrubs and trees, along with some seasonal colour in the form of low maintenance perennials and shrubs.

Much of the surface is paved, which creates a cohesive and practical space. This garden is used by all the residents of the flats, so it was designed to allow people to either gather in small groups or to host larger events.
